Remember that well, Mullers put him on as sub with pretty clear instructions what to do, within 5mins you could hear the CRACK all round the Goldstone :-(
Having re-read this, is this maybe a lesser known Paul Clarke that was on our books during the period mentioned ??
One of the nastiest moments I've had at a football match, it was just a very hard tackle and I heard the leg break and I think most of the crowd could too. Grim.
Reading that I don't think it's the same 'Paul Clark'. He's too young for one thing; it says he's 44, which means he was playing for us when he was about eleven!

According to this link he was born in 1946 which would make him early to mid 30s when he played for us and 65 now - same era as Wardy, Horton etc. Sounds about right?
totally agree nobody knows how to block tackle now and if they did they would become a marked man especially by the refs
