Long Tall Texans - Mark Denman was and maybe still is a maths teacher at BHASVIC. Recently saw a very tidy rock'n'roll outfit at The Prestonville - I'm sure at least one of them was a former LTT.

Anyone remember a moody Moulescoomb outfit from the same era - wounded confessional electronica as I recall? Forgot the name, but remember liking them.

Mark Denman was the guitarist. His brother Graham had his own band, Digitalis. fork me knows him very well.

Mark Carew is now the bassist in The Hotknives.

It was Mark (Denman - not Carew, I can't imagine Carew teaching!) who was the teacher that someone else mentioned earlier.

I put the Texans on a couple of times when I was promoting, including supporting the Test-Tubes and the Hot Knives at the East Wing of the Center when such gigs were viable (OK, almost viable, I lost £800, but I'm blaming that in letting fat Ian DJ between bands).

You've also got Bosky in your picture there who has also played in the Hot Knives. We were also friends at Newman, he was in the same year as me and played trumpet in the school orchestra, I played trombone.

That is the HotKnives in the picture.

And quite... letting Fat Ian DJ.

I am sure that the Hot Diggidy Dogs even "toured" as far as Calverley Road in T. Wells and possibly to Canterbury. I remember seeing a very good and lively Rockabilly band (same one) play in both places. In TW they were a perfect antidote to the Andes Pan pipe groups and a guy who noodled away on a guitar with a lot of effects and echo, all the time successfully avoiding any discernible tune.

A decent busker/street entertainer is a joy to behold and well worth some loose change.

Brighton factually.....
Three fellas, one tall fella on electric guitar, one with a stand up bass and the other with a snare drum. They used to play rockabilly style stuff and were pretty good as I recall.

They were usually to be found around Churchill Square.

Was looking at the old Argos catalogue/games thread and these guys popped into my head for some reason(?!?!)

Just wondering if anyone knew them/who they were/what happened to them?

can you see you in the foreground ?

Just saw them playing a few weeks ago at Bedlam a psychobilly weekender in of all palces Northampton. jolly good toooo even if I am still sore from wrecking at my age

Well if they are still playing together, they need to be given a gig at Dick's Bar!
