David Rose sports closed down about a year ago after David died.

His son didnt want to take it on so it closed down, shame.

That was my first job working there on Saturdays!

Oh and sports corner on Boundary road is now a newsagents.

Sad. David Rose sold me my firsy cricket bat. :(

I got my first cricket bat from there back in around 1990. It was a Slazenger and very proud of it I was until, about 2 months later, a mate pointed out to me that faintly stamped into the wood on the side up near the splice were the words 'reject'.:dunce:

David Rose was one of the few sportshops left in Brighton, I mean sports stuff, not trendy chavvy wear that would hold up past a 400m run

I mean David Rose, you could buy your school PE kit, your football boots, and even a javelin if you needed one!
