Went there on a stag do but didn't play the Brabazon. It was in November so it pissed down for most of my round but still enjoyed it. Great course and set up. Days golf, followed by drinks with awards etc. then had a meal on onto the onsite nighclub. :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:

How would i know?I'm pissed.
The Brabazon Course is the one where the Ryder Cup takes place...........The 10th hole is a classic "risk/ reward" hole.......short par 4 of about 250 yards or so, but guarded by trees and water.
The brave will be tempted to have a go at it, but if you have a reasonable score going, then knock a 6 iron up the left which will leave an easy wedge to the green.
You may need a few balls at the Belfry as there is quite a lot of water:eek:

If you are so inclined, there is a nightclub there and apparently the place is normally heaving with Totty on a Sunday night i believe.:drink:

Have a good time and let me know how you get on.

PS.......I've got a set of MacGregor VIP blades for sale if you know of anyone interested...........£75.00, also a couple of bags.

What a week that was.

Ding Dong, why dont you PM me and get on Woodingdean Gull's Preston Golf Society list...we play some cracking courses and they are a seriously great bunch of chaps ( all Albion fans to boot)

Ah.... The Belfry.

Happy memories of many a Friday and Saturday night spent as a 17/18/19 year old lad, out on the razzle with my Brummie mates.

That was before they spoilt the place and built a golf course there.

Sounds good Dave, might just take you up on it sometime but have to be honest, golf has taken a back step over the last year with setting up own business, kids, moving home etc etc. I've even had to give up my membership at Royal Ashdown after 12 years there because I just don't get the time to play at the moment !!! I'm missing golf like mad as well.

No worries mate.

I will PM you when the "fixtures" are out next year and you can have a look.

certainly the REMF game against Palace fans is always great fun.

Had the chance and bottled it, didn't think my golf was up to it and didn't fancy making a complete fool of myself.
Starting playing again and looking forward to the next invite. Wouldn't mind a game at sometime Dave if it isn't to serious.

Used to play for my Uni out of the Belfry.

3 Courses

Brabazon - Old Ryder Cup course, well kept nice course (don't take on the 18th though if you get to play off the backs.

PGA National - which IMHO is the best course out of the three.

The Derby - get the buggy out there and don't expect very much, it is the same as a standard municipal course, but probably a bit shorter.

Have fun.

I've played on all 3 courses there. The Brabazon is good but bloody hard - I was playing off about 18 when I played there and it was too hard for me. I did par the last though :) :) Definitely overpriced tho.

The Derby is a bit boring.

As StaffsGull says I also think that the PGA National is the best course and fairer than the Brab.

The nightclub is FULL of totty and well worth a visit :p

Enjoy :)

Never played golf but spent decent time on business there - the nightclub's pretty good (but not if you're so drunk you can't find your way out, like I was....) :drink:

Played the Brabazon about 3 years ago on a stag weekend. Not set up for an 18 handicap golfer!18th is difficult off the white tees as you need to drive it over 250 yards to clear the water - unless you play it as a par 5 which is the sensible thing to do. The 10th looks reachable over the pond but even a massive drive puts you in the water! The Derby course is used as a car park when major events are played there but is quite short and a bit boring. Nightclub was good - full of hen parties most staying the night at the hotel!!!!
