Do you know where does a proper fry up, all the site cafe does is croos-ants"

Wanted to go backpacking round Australia,also got fed up with 3 tours of Bosnia on the bounce.
It’s a great life for a young lad, enjoyed my time by was ready to leave.

Maybe after your success with three tours of a country which is practically landlocked by ship, you could follow it up by touring the Mediterranean sea in your camper van

I do intend to eventually use our motorhome to drive down to a home in Spain, through Europe, but that’s not till I retire.x

Agreed and see that Landcruise sell these second hand. Do they go for the advertised price or is there much wriggle room? I'm guessing that they'll be in high demand now?

Yes , it was the end of season sale, there is a tiny bit of wiggle but they are already priced about 10 grand below list price, I managed to negotiate a bike rack and solar panel into the price.

What is the UK law on motorhome travel and passengers in the rear? Does each passenger require a seat belt if they are somewhere in the vehicle? (i.e. would it be wrong to strap one of my kids to the bed in the back?)

My Dad has a 4 birth motorhome with 4 seats with seat belts, but room for 5. We are a family of 5. He's offered to let us take it, but working out if we'd need to take the car too, UK only. I need to look it up, but assuming all passengers would need belts.

I've borrowed a VW California Ocean for the last couple of summers. Beautiful things.

Demand for them has gone throught the (soft) roof. Apparently, the waiting list had got to September before the lockdown began.

Was planning on the former Jugoslavian countries plus Albania and home through Italy. Great trip to Bulgaria and Romania last Autumn. Japanese Ambulance we’ve had custom converted.
Wait to see for the next trip but not too far as wouldn’t want to get caught in a lockdown.

We imported a Toyota Alphard from Japan and had it converted. Wanted as small camper as some of the places we've been too would be unreachable in a biggie. We normally do 5 weeks around the Highlands and Islands this time of year and are missing it a lot.

Cheers. Without wishing to p!ss on anyone's chips it is so much better than the VWs. Spent ages deciding and glad we went this way. I don't know anyone that has had both and preferred the VW.

We had a small self converted camper for racing, out grew it and got LAika like this

it was a beast, went well, towed a race car/trailer . . ahd all the bells and whistles, air con, proper bog, shower, cooker, oven . . . but it was a big beast and took a lot of looking after . . . . the last year it woirked out to have cost £100 a night we used it so little, thats hotel money. . . .so we sold it. can't say I miss it much. it took a good 4 hours to clean and wash when we got home from a long weekend or week away.

Always think its one of those things unless you are going to use it a lot they are just a money pit and hassle, then there's the depeciation let alone everything else.

Lets face it the season in this country is pretty short...

I was interested in the Alphard. Had had a V6 Mazda Bongo for 11 years before our latest. Got as far as Morocco, Turkey and Iceland. Size was ideal as you say. Went fractionally bigger and Now got a 3.4L V6 Toyota engine and it purrs along.

For those that have them - I don't but will in the future when time is less of an issue - would you consider left hand Drive an advantage?

Answering my own question I guess it's where you are going to spend the most time - personally I think I probably would go for LHD

Well, cars imported from Japan are right-hand drive, so that's not an issue. We're still exploring the UK so won't be travelling abroad for the foreseeable future, so RHD is perfect for us.
