Anyone know of any reputable pet shops in Brighton/Sussex that sell KITTENS.

Lost Cats Brighton in Portslade - I got my little Lewis there 4/5 months ago as a 4/5 month year old kitten. No home visits but he'd had all of his vaccinations and his balls chopped off. Ron down there will be happy to help.

The advice about the cats protection league in Worthing is very good. My aunt is one of the people who conducts visits to inspect the homes. It's not arduous, she just basically needs to see if you are normal people with enough space and common sense to look after a cat. It's one visit, thats all.

Theres an independant cat rescue place in Peacehaven, she advertises in the Friday add and was excellent. We got a badly truamatised kitten from her years ago and she was brilliant with her. Although didn't run a cat hotel as a business, because she knew the history of our cat she took her in when we had holidays etc. Worth seeking her out if you have the time - I think her name was Debbie, but it is going back a few years

Just to add, we went to the RSPCA in the first instance and left in disgust. I know they have to make sure the animals are going to a good home, but their vetting process(if you'll pardon the pun) was a little over the top, considering you can get a kitten out of the paper for a tenner and nobody even asks your name

Perhaps they were a little put off by your apparent "I want one and I want one NOW" attitude?

We've just adopted two kittens from the RSPCA shelter in Patcham, and I was hugely impressed by how dedicated and helpful the staff there were. Sure, it took a month or so after we applied before we brought them home, but it's part of the process. Everyone has to go through it, and while it might seem "rude and condescending", it's for the animals' benefit, not yours.

I know how miserable it is to lose a pet, but cats can live for 20 years or more so a few weeks should not make that much difference.

i was in there the other day and they had two kittens about £100.00 all jabs and litter tray toys ect

might be worth a call

We werent like that when we went to the RSPCA, its just how you come out feeling, they made us feel like idiots that had never looked after a pet before. Maybe it was just the ladies who were on shift that day.

The only reason we wanted one this weekend is that we want a pet for christmas, as we've never had one without one, and this weekend is the only weekend I can do , as places only seem to be open 9-5 during the week which means I cant go

Think there is a snake shop in town that sells only small kittens, but think they are in batches of 5 only.

Coombs is almost certainly the best pet shop in town if you can't wait, though RSPCA includes neutering, injections and (possibly) free chipping too.

please please don't go to a shop or breeder

ron is a mate of mine and will find you the right kitten/cat and has a massive reputation in the Brighton area he will even let you foster before adopting
let him know he has been recommended by the guy in Wales
