"Geoff Hurst was still a few months from scoring his World Cup Final hat-trick when the Seagulls last chalked up such a mammoth victory."

Sorry, I was looking for 'biggest win since' type stats. I'm trying to put the 8-0 in context with Albion history. I'm having a bad day on the computer...... I couldnt find these on the net anywhere but recall seeing a number in the Argus at the time.

We beat Crawley Town 5-0 in the third round of the FA Cup at the Goldstone. I was there, but my memory's a bit faded regarding Chapper's hat-trick. As it was near my birthday, some friends bought me that horrendous red/white 'paint splash' away shirt (for a home game?!)

I vaguely remember the Charlton 7-0

I seem to recall Catlin? being upset with the teams performance in the second half after we only managed 2 goals.
