I need to upgrade my mobile from one that Noah had. I want one of these fancy ones that take photos and videos, text and phone calls would be handy.

Some of these phones do some much they will be able to give you a blowjob soon so I need some advice. Anyone got one of the Blackberry things and what do they do, internet and e mail's innit ???

Recommendations, monthly rentals and best places to buy please.

Regards.

I've got a 'smartphone', a Sony Ericsson P910I. Can't honestly say that a Blackberry does anything that it can't do along with a lot of other phones. The Blackberry just has a keyboard (as does mine) but its quite a big beast.

I would say unless you need to get emails and surf the net urgently they're no such a great idea. I have to configure them and am frankly not that impressed. Try Ebay though.

i would say stay away from ericssons with the little joystick thingy, as if you get drunk and constantly drop it then the thing will stop working properly

We have been looking at blackberrys at work. We are thinking of introducing remote working which in this case would involve being in a customer's home connected to the server at base.

Like bhaexpress said unless you need to have access to your emails alot when you are away from a computer, then I would not bother. Just get a decent phone instead. Even if you do need to access email and internet alot while out the office, I would recomend a tablet instead of a blackberry. Might be bigger but a lot easier to use and alot more power.

I couldn't agree more ! I had one a couple of years ago, T68i, bloody horrible phone. The one I have now is a PDA Phone and has a stylus.

I've got a Blackberry through work, and they are a mixed blessing.

They are great if I'm in meetings all day, or driving in the car, as I can see who is sending me urgent emails, and if important clients have sent me a proposal, tender, etc.

On the downside - its very difficult to ever switch off from work, as I'm constantly checking the damn thing for new messages, evenings and lunchtimes, in the pub, and at home.

I've got a blackberry for work, but I wouldn't want it for general use. My flatmate has one of the brand new ones which looks like a normal phone, only seen it once so i can't comment on weather it's any good or not, but it does look much better than the old ones

Bloody great big things but maybe its just me. I worked somewhere recently where they were status symbols but the users would get almost hysterical if they had a problem with them.

Got a work Blackberry. When its works it is useful. Hard to type messages. But we have had to send 9 back already.

Got one of these little chaps and love it.

When away from the office I know I won't be returning to hundreds of new emails to wade through as I'll have picked 'em up as I've gone along, and replied to all the urgent ones too.

Buys you freedom and takes it away at the same time (because, as above, you keep checking the little blighter) - but wouldn't be without it now.

Apparantly with global warming continuing at such an alarming rate Britain could soon see the end of the Blackberry as we know it as they need a good winter frost in order to survive
