Longchamps is absolutely gorgeous on Arc weekend. The leaves are turning red and gold, it's as glorious as Goodwood IMHO, and French racing is a bit special anyway. It's far more democratic. Last time I went you could go absolutely anywhere in the stands apart from half a dozen seats roped off with a velvet cord. They're reserved for the president of France!

Have been lucky enough to be there when Dancing Brave won the Arc, and also when Lochsong won Le Prix de l'Abbaye for the second time. Funniest time was when Yakki-Takki finally won a race after some rank bad riding and Michael stoute bowed down at his feet - only for the unlucky Y-T to be disqualified about five seconds later

It's a cracking weekend out and I'm extremely jealous of anybody who is there this weekend. Enjoy!

Have just arrived and can confirm that the Bois de Boulogne is looking as beautifully autumnal as ever. On a more practical level, there's been no rain here for well over a week, and the track should be perfect for Sea The Stars.

so have i blown my cash on getaway ? e/w

He tends to do his winning with cut in the ground, like most Monsuns, but the short price about STS means there are plenty at very big odds who could easily sneak a place, and he'd be one of them.
