Crawley council,the Owners and Landlords of the Broadfield Stadium,refused to have us groundshare because they thought Palarse reserves would create more revenue so we ended up at Priestfield.
Palarse went Bankrupt and stiffed crawley council so it cost Crawley big time.

But good luck to CTFC anyway but no way would I go to watch them unless it was for another BHAFC 5-0 drubbing.

COUNCIL, not club. And they had no choice as residents were promised, when planning permission was granted, that no team would play their home first team games there apart from Crawley. Residents knew you were struggling and were fearful of that so the promise was made.

And fair play to the council for keeping their promise.

Always been a bit of needle between the two towns. Mostly it seems from them. I occasionally went to the Leisure Centre to see bands in the late Seventies and early Eighties. They were always hanging around Three Bridges station trying to suss out anyone from Brighton. I remember a few scuffles at a Stranglers when they targeted a well known character on the Brighton punk scene. Unfortunatly it was his brother they got , not him. And of course it kicked off big time in 1977 when the Clash played there, although to be fair to Crawley , there was quite a bit of Pa***e involvement in the mix.
It also kicked off occasionally down here at the Top Rank .I remember our skinheads giving their skinheads a good shoeing up Queens Road after a Cockney Rejects gig.
It wasn't exactly a Sussex love-in when we played them in the cup at the Goldstone either.

So what's the difference this time?

I am completely ambivalent about Crawley. I won't be supporting them - but I do wish them well. Apart from their manager looks a git, and it should be a rule that club ownership is transparent. Oh - and apart from the fact they do look a bit like a Pompey waiting to happen.

Horsham is quite a pleasant town for the most part. Brighton & Hove have loads to offer. Eastbourne has its scenic bits, Haywards Heath is boring but acceptable, the Hastings area has its history, Arundel and Chichester are pretty, Lewes old fashioned and quirky, Worthing...alright I'm struggling a bit now, but nobody, NOBODY, even the local tourist board (does Crawley have a tourist board??) has ever described Crawley as a "lovely little town", until you just wrote that.

Anyway, got nothing against Crawley the football club. It's had some shit times which unsurprisingly turned off alot of Crawley regulars. However it seems that the club is on an upward curve, good luck to them.

How would you know if they have never been to a game? Do you have proof? I've been to a lot of Crawley games and every time I go, I must see about 50 people I've never seen before. The locals are starting to come along, due to our good league finishes in the last few years and of course our success so far this season.
