I thought they were great, because their seats are designed for lardy-arsed americans and therefore much, much bigger than normal economy Euro-arse sized seats.

I flew with them last year to Charlotte then on to West Virginia, very good, TV screens in the back of the seats and everything.. food was crap but that's the norm for all flights I think, I flew to the states this year with Delta and they were really shit.

Little hint: order Kosher food on flights as it's usually a cut above the stuff they dish out to everyone else.

flew with them last year - international flight was okay but then they lost our bags as we changed to an internal flight. The internal flight was rubbish for such a long flight. Spoke to loads of other guys who had also had their backage lost and it they all said it was "typical US airways"

Personally, the only airline with whom I'd ever fly trans-atlantic would be Continental.

Have used them on four return trips now (including one involving a connecting flight in each direction), and the service has been flawless each and every time.

They were even able to change one of my booking less than a week before I was due to fly when I needed to fly home a day earlier than planned for various reasons. Admittedly it was made possible by the fact of there being space on the flight I wanted to be moved onto, but they made it all so quick and easy, which was very much appreciated at the time.

I'd recommend them to anyone.

I have flown on US Airways internal flights a few times - can't complain, the seats were big enough. Have only ever flown on a trans-atlantic flight with them one, the staff were nice food was good, but the plane broke on the way back and had to be diverted to New York. In all honesty I thought that they were a good airlline (I guess their planes are as likely to break down as anyone else's).

I've used them too. Flight service was as good and the planes, whilst not as good as American they're a lot better than Delta and North West (the former I would avoid like the plague). I would put them on a par with Continental who are pretty sound. However I had some luggage 'misplaced' too. They said they'd send it at a time that was convenient to me but in fact they sent it long before it was supposed to arrive and it was a bit lucky that I was in at the time.

Yep i've flown with them to too charlotte then on to LAX the trans atlantic was on an A330 nice plane and try to bag side not centre seats as they are configured 232

Better config than American Airlines 777's which are configed 3-5-3 in economy! How do lardy arsed septics fit into those tiny bucket seats? Naff airline all round imo. All three cabins are a 1980's timewarp. As for the crew, most are a 1950's timewarp!

my gf is crew for virgin and they do fly to miami

Not from Spain though which is what I guess this is about.

Not flown US but from my experiences of other American airlines have all been positive and I'd rate them above the British carriers. American, Delta and NWA have all been exceptional.

If you're a value flyer you're just going to pay the cheapest price to get from A to B anyway.

In flight maybe bit both NWA and Delta have given me bad experiences on the Customer Liason front. Also, they both have the oldest fleets. American score high with me as they have more leg room than any other carrier. They also have flawless ground services and considering what a hassle American airports can be thanks to their now insane security that's no small thing.

As a matter of fact US Air have two main hubs Charlotte and Pittsburgh. Charlotte they inherited when the took over Peidmont Airways but Pittsburgh is their original home. I would rate Pittsburgh as easily the best airport I have seen in the US, a nice airy friendly airport that other airports can only hope to be.
