So glad I watched League Cup games back in the day when they really mattered to clubs , full strength teams etc Happy days never to be repeated sadly.

Has GP ever fielded the same team twice ?

I agree, sticking with a winning formula is not a bad idea. The risk with last night was tired first team players and a confidence knock. win/win for Everton!

Exactly. A confidence knock to Dunk, White, Maupay, Trossard...now beaten twice by Utd in 5 days. Plus a confidence knock to the 'reserves' who beat Preston and thought they'd have a game against Utd...maybe not many of them, but Roberts and Sanders for e.g. Poor judgement I think, but maybe fearing bad press for 'disrespecting the Carabao' ...who knows.
Anyways...Everton is another sunrise...come on the Seagulls!!!

I do hope threads like this are tongue in cheek. As well as we are playing now, it was still a largely reserve side against Man Utd, and they have a lot more strength in depth than us. Mata, Fred, McTominay, Bailly, Henderson, Ighalo would all be starters for most premier league sides and we have them a good game for most of the night.

As an aside, if Brandon Williams was available on loan he would be a great option for the left side, he was excellent last night.
