There were at least four letters that needed eliminating to make it any more than a guess on today's word imo, having been through the vowels too that is a tough call. That is assuming you already had the last letter too as far as my guessing was concerned. I had it by the third go but still ended up with a six.

Once the first letter was in place, there was only one thing that could come second. It also only left one option for the last. That meant there were 3 possibilities for my 4th guess so I went for the most common one.
