Have you been working out your average using your phone's calculator? If so, there'll be a record.

Yes, as of yesterday it was 3.9166 but I don’t remember how many games I’ve played. Guess says 166 and an overall score in the high 600s

I do know that I’ve had two fails though!

Maths is not my strong point!

Never mind, I am a relegation struggler so not really relevant in the table

A relieved 5, but I’d eliminated most of the alphabet by my last guess, and so had limited options. Also, I may have a teensy bit of a headache.

If you open the calculator, you should be able to find a record of your previous calculations. Presumably, each day you've divided your total score by your number of plays so if you can see yesterday's calculation you'll have all the info you need.

Bit buggered, Wordle on the link I have been using from day one has stopped working and I don’t have a note of games played and scores so can no longer work out my average. I’ll have to come off the daily update as I am now top of the table with my one game

Today I found out something new about hard mode - if you Have greens, then you must put them in the right place! After 2 goes, I was pretty certain of the last 4 letters, but had a choice of 3 starting letters. So what I wanted to do was rule 1 of those potential starting letters by including both of them in my 3rd guess - this would require me to rearrange my existing green letters too. Hard mode wouldn’t let me do that.

In the end I was no worse off as I guessed the correct starting letter on the 2nd attempt, but it could’ve been a 5 instead (I usually have a knack of choosing the wrong ones). So hard mode came down to luck of choosing the one correct remaining letter, whereas on normal mode I could’ve played it more tactically to guarantee a 4.

My conclusion is that on ‘normal’ mode it can be a much more tactical game and hard mode is more of a game of luck. I think I might switch.
