Does anyone else use the strategy of beginning with a word with 3 vowels? It seems to help by ruling options out at least.

I start with IRATE. Mrs CBH starts with "IDEAL" - taking out the most common letters feels like a smart move. I also play in hard mode - so that I am not tempted to ignore already revealed letters to allow me to discount options. It's slightly tougher sometimes.

I used to (and sometimes words with four vowels) but now tend to pick words with two vowels. My average since doing that has gone down so it seems to be a reasonable strategy
