since joining NYT has become noticeably harder

They're using the same set of solutions in the same order. The only change they made to the answers was removing the word "agora", presumably as they thought it too tricky. They've also edited the list of possible guesses, cutting words deemed offensive or insensitive (including pussy, wench and slave) as well as some British spellings (eg. Fibre)
