[Technology] Anyone else playing Wordle?

A very quick Google search suggests there are 11,000-12,000 five-letter words in the English language. Assuming that's in the right ballpark at least, it's VERY long-odds to get it in one (getting one for every 25 years you play is overachieving).

Whether the game's database of 5 letter words has them all / that many isn't guaranteed, but I'd say it's still highly unlikely to get it in one unless someone has inadvertently been given a tip / hint or a subconscious clue by someone who's already played it that day.

Or they are just really lucky.

Yes, it must be quite a small sample of words. A few days ago I discovered that 'Latin' wasn't recognised as a word - that's not exactly a rarely used one

Thats often pretty useful though, if you are eliminating a bunch of common letters.
