how did you do worse on your second go?!

5 different letters to my first go. It’s my new system - cover the top 10 most frequently used letters in my first 2 goes then go from there. I had hoped that this approach would improve my average (at the expense of guaranteeing I’d never get a 2 - unless I fluked something like 3 greens on my first go, when I’d abandon the system; or getting 5 blanks on my first go).

So far, 5 days in, my average has worsened , though today is exactly what I’d hoped might happen from time to time. Mind you, there’s been an American spelling (which I wasn’t expecting) and a really tough word in those 5 days, so the data is somewhat skewed so far.

Another 4 that would have been a 3 had I chosen the other option I had in mind for my 3rd guess. I even went for the less obvious word, trying to be clever.

Had 2nd, 3rd and 5th letters after 2 and completed on 6th attempt. Thought 100% record down the pan.

I have a similar strategy - 4 today. Like you I suspect it will result in just maintaining my average overall - still good innocent fun though

Fail. This is starting to pee me off. Once again I get decent letters early on and am left with a load of options. I have to pick them at random and hope to get the correct one. Any tips?
