I use the same word each day - IRATE - as suggested on NSC. Even if it gives you lots of blanks, those blanks are giving you lots of intelligence to work from. I defo don't use a second word to eliminate more letters. I use deduction and guesswork after the first word.

Four. Had to take about two HOURS between the third and fourth go, though. Had the first three letters after three, and just could not for the life of me come up with a word that didn't need letters I'd alreday ruled out.
