I think the idea is to show the grid with the coloured squares (only), showing how many attempts it took, as the OP did. That would show that you got it in 2 attempts, but would not reveal the answer.

No point in anyone else trying now, until tomorrow's puzzle is set (apart from someone saying 'oh look, I got it in one thanks to pasty').
