I have managed just 3 twos in 84 goes

There’s certainly luck involved in getting a 2 and there do seem to be some that are much ‘luckier’ than others!

I’ve had 18 2s in 222 goes, most of which have been lucky. However, whilst today’s included an element of luck in having 2 greens and a yellow from my starter word, my geeky Wordle spreadsheet helped out too - at first glance I had a choice of 3 potential words for my 2nd go, but my spreadsheet showed me that one of those options had already been used as a solution (I record my score each day and the solution) giving me a 50/50 for a 2. Luckily I guessed the right way today, that’s definitely not always the case.

A 4 seems to be a pretty crap score for today. Following on from other comments I have played 249 games and got it in 2 only five times.

I think you need to change your starter word, BB, if you're getting a 2 less than 1% of the time. A decent starter word should see you get a 2 about in about 6% of games.

According, to a bit of research I've just done you've been slightly lucky when it comes to hitting 2s. The best starter word apparently should give you a 2 in 6.5% 6.5% of games.
