My first 5 in a while after a good run of 2s, 3s and 4s. My one previous fail came on a word like this, where I was left with multiple possibilities with the final letter. Could've easily been the same today.

I did the same thing but with the second letter.

Considering the number of possible options available after 2. I was very happy with my 4. Whist only marginal, the 0.01 increase in my average at last stops the downward spiral - at least for now.

I have got the last six (including today's) in three. Yes, you need a bit of luck but not a huge amount. The only day I didn't get it in four or fewer over the past three weeks was when my wife got it in two and so I tried to beat her by guessing early and ended up with a five.

Having said that, I have never got a two.
