But if you were similar to me - the choice between the fourth and fifth words was just pure luck. Not sure how I could have turned a 5 into a 4 except by a luckier guess - there was no science to it for me!

I realise that, in this instance, my strategy was futile, as by that stage the starting letter is random...but it would, by luck, have got me a 4
