Yes,it's a right bastard, pissing me right off.Have found not drinking alcohol(I must be ill!) and plenty of water have helped.

Everybody should drink more water than they do pure water is best,as some local waters have metals chemicals added that for most people are ok and are needed to keep the water safe yet others really don't help at all.

Still you by a bottle of mineral water from a shop and it says to the effect "been under a volcano for millions of years" so how come it has a 2014 expiry date on it ? :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: work that one out

Fresh water is why our life expectancie's have dramatically improved over the last few hundred years

that would arguably help prevent illness, do little to cure. its a fad, it has its place (good for post antibiotics to get the digestion back quickly), but its not going to cure everything. you might as well drink Guiness to improve iron intake (actually, unfiltered real ale is very good for you with lots of anti-oxidants and fibre).

No it cannot cure everything and genetics play a big part, but keeping the digestive system in good working order goes a long way to good health, also with the recent increase over the years of overseas people in the country new viruses are impacting on the population and this can only be expected.

as to the drinking of Guinness there is some truth in this, peoples of London had better health in the 1700's if they drank ale rather than the water of the time..

Sulfur rich foods are important,we are 1/4 Sulfur the body does not produce this substance but we need it daily to live-check it out

My boyfriend had whooping cough starting in August. Took a couple of weeks to build up, then was diagnosed and given antibiotics (which dont cure it but prevent you being infectious) Lasted about 4 weeks at its worst e.g. Waking up multiple times a night with coughing fits/stopping breathing because your coughing so much and coughing so much you vomit but has taken around 3 months to completely go.
Believe me it's horrible and having watched him unable to catch his breath I can easily see how it kills babies.

That, funnily enough, was the exact advice I got from a professional. One other thing is changes in temperature. If you set your heating to come on in the evening and morning, the cough will be worse then. Better to have the heating on at a lower level constantly or not at all. That's what I was advised.

Got it around mid December, worst I have been ill for a long time. The wife has had it for a week now and mine never really buggered off. I woke this morning and I fear it is back with a vengence. Fecking horrible bug/virus.

Agree with you if it was just a cough, but coupled with sickly feeling, sore throat. And general cold/ flu type symptoms, it's the cold that the vast majority of the population have.
Why everyone seems to think the best thing to do is cram up doctors surgeries infecting everyone in there demanding anti biotics is beyond me.

I used to plead the Doctors for anti Biotic's,all i can now say is NO WAY unless i was in a very serious way, look to other ways to prevent rather than cure, diet and what we eat is so very important,in fact it's VITAL,i am thankful i have seen the light so to speak..

Is that what I've got? Whooping cough? Seems to be easing off now, after almost a fortnight. Had a really bad, phlegmy cold before that. Now I have a sore throat making it painful to swallow, and the cough just leaps up and catches me by surprise again, but less often. (Just read up in it: it can take months to get rid of. )

Yes they do,the toxins inside you intestines leak into your blood stream, unchecked can cause all number of health problems..

With good diet transit times are reduced toxins removed and overall health better.

What a load of crap. The final straw was when you mentioned 2 litres of water a day - a marketing myth actually created by the bottled water industry and swallowed (literally) by every gullible person who also believes the claptrap spouted about probiotics, which have no scientific backing whatsoever (which even the companies that make them have now had to accept). Yes it's good to keep hydrated but the body draws fluid from food and any drink, not just water. We have a very effective system which tells us when we're not properly hydrated - it's called thirst. Extra fluid is a good idea for colds as it helps to thin mucus but a hot drink can be even more effective for that. Honey is good for reducing the irritation that causes coughs, lemon or orange works because the acid cuts through mucus and paracetamol will make you feel better. Otherwise, if its viral, rest is the key. So save your money.

Probably not if its easing up after a fortnight, whooping cough takes that to get going! Hope you feel better soon though.
