For me getting one with my son who’s 8 has really brought my love of going back, seeing him so happy regardless of the results is what it’s all about, him signing and shouting along with the north just brings huge smile to my face.

My son's ST started when he was 8. They were fantastic years, my most enjoyable watching the Albion in many ways.

Unfortunately they then grow into teenagers who skulk under a hoodie, moaning about us not scoring and swearing at the ref with everyone else :lolol:

This.

I went to Lewes v Worthing yesterday and had a brilliant time. Off the back of a premier league culture that cares little for fans I can understand why it’s so tempting to walk away. But I shall renew again and hope that things improve, on an off the pitch.

Me too ... great game and atmosphere. Worthing fans didn't stop singing for the 90 minutes!

chaileyjem has credibility with me. I will say you have no credibility whatsoever in thinking you can speak for NSC as some kind of whole. He responds to criticism of the club, generally with actual facts, quotes or bits of info from press conferences or surveys etc. Not sure why it’s so difficult to accept someone unequivocally supports and loves their football club. I don’t always agree with him, but always think his heart is in the right place.

Its not healthy when your first thought is to just blindly defend something without taking into account the point in question.

You can use facts and data to to prove any point you want if you are selective enough. Everyone has their own opinions which should be respected - but credibility reduces when all your views are constantly pointing in the same direction regardless of the various points of view on offer

That is just an incredible amount of support in the 7th tier away from home (all be it not very far). I have connections with Havant & Waterlooville who 10 years or so ago would have an average home gate of around 500. They now often take that number away and are regularly up around 1000-1500 at home.

Why wouldn’t a football fan’s first thought be to defend their club? Seems an entirely reasonable response to what is often an irrational tribal endeavor anyway. The point perhaps you should be asking is why so fans have a first response to criticise their club?

“you prove anything with facts” - one of my favourite Stewart Lee sketches.

Yesterday's attendance was 2,347

Worthing have had 2,000+ twice this season and average around 1,250 a game for league games.

The two biggest attendances in the league this season (AFAIK) have been in Worthing away games at Lewes and Bognor.

Just cancelled mine too. After over 30 years as a season ticket holder, it was not an easy decision but I've found it more and more difficult to motivate myself to attend home games over the past five seasons; and our poor home form and lack of attacking options (something the club always fails to address) has tended to make watching the side a painful experience rather than a pleasure. Not fallen out of love with the Albion, and will continue to support the team and attend the odd game in future, but in all honesty an afternoon at the Amex no longer offers the same level of enjoyment as it once did.
With that last sentence you have hit the nail on the head for many.its a young man's game

Mental. 7th tier home crowds used to average 200-400.

You do realise you have next to zero credibility on NSC right? There may well be an Albion fan buried deep in there somewhere, but your persona on here is primarily a Paid-For Barber Bot. As per your paymaster, you're Always On, and will respond to any crticise of the club, real or imagined, well within your 30 minute SLA. Well done!

Speak for yourself; he has credibility with me.

There are posters on here that are relentlessly negative about the way the club has been run over the last decade, so it’s worthwhile debating some of that negativity with actual facts sometimes.

Actual facts such as highlighting a survey that didn't relate to a poster's mentioned problems at all? And then continuing to mention it when it was pointed out to be of no relevance at all.

I honestly believe the club is over-all doing an extremely good job pretty much in every area, and in difficult times. But it is foolish to dismiss all criticism as unwarranted.

Ours have been cancelled :( We'll miss it.
As I have mentioned, the combined monthly payment will cover the current rise in our energy bills.
I'd like to point out, I think Paul Barber does a decent, job, I enjoy the football and will miss the Amex experience and also realised that by getting a new out of town Stadium, Travel would be a pain in the arse.
Reading some of the comments on here, Why didn't you cancel earlier? You all seem so unhappy.

I know what you are talking about, but I believe the posters you are replying to maybe didn’t see the thread or posts when he posted the survey.
There seems to be a few crossed wires here.

It’s probably like some relationships, people stick with them because they think things may get better.

I’m renewing my ST but I can’t say I’ve been really enjoying going to the Amex this season, and really should be looking forward to Brighton v Liverpool in the PL on Saturday, but I’m not.
I’m blaming giving up drinking just over a year back though :D maybe when I had a good days drinking I wasn’t worried about the results.

Fair enough. I like Chailey's contributions generally and think he's trying to be helpful, and I admire his dedication for sticking up for the club even though I don't always agree with it.

Sorry if my comments caused any confusion for anyone.

We've decided to give ours up. I've been going with my daughter. Since we have been going, she's left home, bought a flat, done it up (well that was me), met a fella, got engaged, got married, sold the flat and bought a house and 9 months ago gave us our first grandchild.

It's 70% other commitments/ finances, 30% the football and the whole 'match day experience' (KO time etc).

Yes its sad, but life goes on and we'll still get to the odd games, but it is what it is.

I cancelled this week. A bit sad but life is different to what it was 10 years ago when I first got them. Used to enjoy spending time with one of my boys having a beer and a natter in the concourse, travel was easy and predictable with the uni car park, football has been great, poor and indifferent over the decade but that’s not really the issue. Now both boys married and moved away, I’ve other demands on my time that make the frequent changing of kick off times difficult and I reckon I can always get a ticket to a game if I want to - that hasn’t always been the case. Still love the club, Uncle Tony, Paul and GP.

Cancelled mine and my sons today. Had one at all four grounds but can never remember a time when I was less bothered about going.

I put travel down as the main reason for mine and kick off times for my sons but I think it's the Premier League in general. The blind loyalty shown by PL fans, Chelsea/Abramovich, Newcastle/Saudi's, West Ham/Zouma, etc is quite frankly nauseating and something I don't think I really want to be part of.

Yes, absolutely this.

I cancelled three weeks ago, and don't regret it at all.
