What was he saying Trojan? Surely not suggesting that Cheltenham shouldn't have abandoned?

The general word of mouth is that it is called off as they could not accomodate the 2500 prawn sandwich hospitality brigade and its all down to money. They other 50000 people have been disregarded. There are a lot of angry people.

I heard him on the way in.
"Namby pamby health & safety numpties" calling it off, and he's on the warpath trying to find out exactly WHO made the decision. Never mind the fact that one of the restaurant structures actually COLLAPSED the other night (luckily with no-one there at the time), and with gales forcasted this afternoon and this evening, the tented village is at risk. Brazil would have been quite alright in the Corals hospitality box of course (in the main stand), so he's "steaming" that todays been called off.

Fat jock gimp.

I think Brazil is saying its off because of the money generated by 2000 prawn sandwich eaters over the 55000 ordinary punters.

I have had a bit of a childish spat on the other thread but this is a ritual for me and my mate for 20 years and we had planned today for months so I am very pissed off indeed as these special days do not come along often and I have a 1 year wait again.

Seen the pictures of the starter's platform leaning on a bent course rail though? It's not just the prawn sarny mob, there's a real danger of debris on the course given the wind direction apparently.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't take a decision like this lightly. It's the Cheltenham Festival, FFS...

Brazil's got this one wrong.

Well thats bollocks really isn't it. The bottom line is that the Cheltenham organisers couldn't guarantee the safety of the racegoers (prawn sandwich or otherwise). If high winds are damaging structures, blowing tents to bits and sending loose debris blowing all over the course, then they've done the right thing in calling it off today.

Sounds like it was quite a rant, but then it is a rather nice hospitality box. Fifth floor, right over the line, quality fizz and food all day.

It was the Coral box that he was in a few years ago when he woke up the next morning - behind the wheel of his car - in a layby about 20 miles away, with no idea of how he'd got there. When he switched on TalkSport, the big story of the morning was the fact that he hadn't turned up for work....

I remember feeling the same approx 7 years ago when finding out that our game at Mansfield was called off. We were 10 miles away when we found out ;)
