Just finished my shift in the cab and about to have dinner and get ready for tonight's game . Last job but one was taking 2 lads to the station for their pre match pint or 3 and one of em mentioned the fact Michael Owen was playing golf today with Tony Bloom and will be his guest at tonight's game.
Should this prove to be true , d'ya reckon he might be signing for us on loan ?

I guess they might know each other from the horses. They might use the same stables?

No chance, absolutely no chance he'll sign on loan though. Why would he give up his stables, Chesire aboad, playing for Premiership team on astronomical wages to play for Brighton? Think about it.

Michael Owen is playing golf the day before (?) an away game for Man United, as well as the press conference he gave today? Hmmmmm

I suspect if Michael Owen was to get involved in some horrific accident and lose both his legs, people would still periodically suggest he will sign for us.

I don't think we will be signing any of the overpaid Premier League wasters and the wage disparity would be too unsettling. This does make the job up to the top flight rather a big step. Ideally we would have the spine of the side and o
if we go up, just sign some high glass peripheral players like two new full backs, a wide midfielder and a central defender. This all assumes we have the rest (the spine) and I don't think we have. It is still not clear what members of our team will adapt to a higher tier? There is room for improvement with our current squad, especially the younger ones.
