Any truth in Danny Ings set to sign for 2.5 million ?

Watford want £25/30 million for Deeney who is 28 and not even an England international. Ings is only 23 and, if fit, might have made Euro 2016 after winning his first cap last September.

In a Watford side which stayed up quite comfortably, Deeney scored 12 goals but 5 were penalties. The previous season in a relegated Burnley team, Ings grabbed 11 goals but only one was a penalty.

Spurs reportedly offered Burnley £12 million for Ings last May but the player was out of contract (fee set by tribunal as under 24) and Danny preferred the bright lights of Merseyside to those of London. Liverpool ripped us off as the max we will get is £8 million.

Far too good for the Championship, Ings proved that in 2013/14 with 26 goals in 45 games.

The only Championship club which would have a hope of signing him might be Newcastle.

Pointlessly pedantic. The fee was only recently agreed by the tribunal which was what the poster was getting at

Possibly, but then what was the point posting something which implied he had only just been signed or that Liverpool had voluntarily paid the amount for him. Sauce for the goose and all that.

Rumour of Danny Ings set to sign very soon for 2.5 million within the next week. Spoke to a albion fan at cricket today. Seemed to know his stuff. True or just a load of bull ?

Did he also sell you some shares that will make you a fortune in the next two years??
Do we need to spend that much to keep us in the top half of the Championship?
