Yep, at one point the sheet lightning was permanent for 10 minutes straight; and the hailstones were the size of my thumbnail.

It was mad wasn't it. I heard some hail when I was in bed so I didn't see how big it was but I saw pics of hail in Cambridge.

You should try living in Devon where we never get any thunder and lightning, but more than our fair share of the unbearable mugginess. It must be 3 or 4 years since we had a half decent thunderstorm here!
