[Albion] Any thoughts on Andre "CPFC" Marriner or the other officials?

Thought they seem to have him hook line and sinker with every dive and collapse. Maybe it's just my blue and white tinted specs.

Also the linesman on the west side gave a throw several times when the ball didn't leave the field of play.

You have to realise that all the officials that ref our matches in the PL, have bad eyesight, because of them rubbing their eyes so hard, in the disbelief that Brighton & Hove Albion are here to stay

The sooner Lino’s/fans/commentators learn the rules on ‘WHOLE BALL, WHOLE LINE’ the better. So many times throw ins are incorrectly given. That one with Solly last night was prob 6 inches still in play - was literally rolling along the line. Just because over 50% of th ball MAY have hung the wrong side of the line they just flag. Nowhere near out and that’s me saying it from not the best of angles.

Sorry to say it looked well out to me.

That ball went over the line completely 100% from my view which is not far from down the line

I thought he managed the game quite well to be honest.

Decent game management I thought, did think the lino bottled giving a pen on Duffy at the end, but so often the case they are half a dozen of one, 6 of the other. Few complaints really. Much better than Lee Mason who I noted infuriated Burnley fans just as much as us, even before he gave Arsenal their last min pen.

It's been a while since I last saw a player try to con a ref so much as Zaha did last night.

Maybe in fact, not since Zaha last played us!

If that was the first half one in the penalty area then it was Duffy...anywhere else on the pitch and it would have been a free kick imho

Second half Dunk (outside the penalty area?) should have been a foul....but when its Zaha i don't really have any sympathy

Re the ref he seemed to give them all the 50/50's ..but maybe i'm just being biased and just maybe thats where palace's premier league experience comes in by knowing how to con the ref

First half to the right of the goal when viewing from the North Stand right on the goal line? I was sure that was Dunk, I could be wrong?

I thought the only real "con" was by Cabaye, that got Izzy booked.. Hardly any real contact but knew the ref was looking and that Izzy had been talked to 1st half.. I thought the referee generally was reluctant to give the pulls/pushes/holding in crucial areas, but at least he was consistent in that. Not sure what Duffy and Dunk thought they were doing risking penalties with unnecessary physical shepherding out of the ball

For the most part the ref seemed to let a lot go and just laughed at players (theirs or ours) who fell to the ground and ignored all of the shirt pulling by both sides too. Only things I thought he got wrong were booking Dunk (basically on Zaha's say so) and let Dunk getting away with barging Zaha over by the touchline moments later.

If my memory serves me correctly both Dunk and Duffy moved Zaha off of the pitch with excessive force at least twice, Duffy full on pushed him with both hands. If a an opposing defender had done that to one of our players we would have gone berserk. I dare say Zaha’s reputation is costing him dearly. Shame.

What about when Izquierdo blatantly took out Zaha on the touchline (whilst on a yellow!), and he gave the decision our way?
I thought Jose had to much pace and was beating Zaha, so Zaha pulled him, they tangled, and then Zaha went over.

I was a long way away and haven't seen a replay, but that's what I thought.

That second ‘challenge’ was a second yellow surely!

Zaha fell over a lot (surprise!) but didn't see much by way of reward for his double somersaults with a triple pike. For that reason alone I'll give the referee a pass.

I saw it like that to. Zaha has way more experience of conning British refs. I think Zaha was genuinely shocked to be outpaced too.

I got the impression that the oficials just wanted to get out without inflaming a potentially tricky match. They were ok - see far far worse (within the last week or so)
