Any suggestions for online backup sites?

I used one a couple of years ago, can't remember who it was now!

About 7 dollars a month, everything was automatically backed up whenever I wanted. it worked very well and I need to find something similar.

All suggestions (at least all sensible ones!) appreciated

Back-up your stuff on someones elses server...only for that sever to crash and lose everything? Personally I dont think I could trust an online backup service, get yourself an additional hard drive (bloody cheap these days) and backup on that then unplug it and have peace of mind!

Hmmm, and the point is suppose your house gets broken into or is burnt down ? The whole point of Off Site back ups is so that you are covered for such possibilities. Granted a local hard drive or even burning to a CD/DVD is a good idea though.

I've already got an external hard drive that I use but I want on-line backup as well, partly because the external hard drive is in the office so if we had a fire it would be a problem, and partly so I can back up or restore from wherever I am in the world.

I agree about the risk of someone else's server going down, which is why I'm looking for recommendations!

Take it as read most companies use off and online backup storage and frankly there's no good reason why a home user shouldn't.

For my business I've been using Backup Direct which is £60 plus VAT per quarter for I think 2GB of storage. Barclays Bank have just introduced their own online backup service which works out cheaper cos you pay per GB required, and pay per month which is easier on cashflow.

Not sure if the Barclays version is only for their customers or not though

which is why you do both. We've two sets of DDS drives in work, and the last person out takes the tapes from the second unit with them = office burns down overnight, they have a copy.

If this is for your website the host can do it automatically for you - although may make a small charge for the service.

I have a daily backup created every night - and have a daily, weekly, monthly backup stored on a remote server if ever I need it. This includes all websites on my server whether they want it or not.

No it's for all the other stuff
