Maybe my overly cautious approach behind the wheel of a metal killing machine holds a clue to the lack of confidence in my driving ability. But strangely I am not a nervous passenger.. quite the opposite in fact. And 2 of my fave tv progs are Top Gear and F1. Yep I'm just too lazy to learn! What a :tosser:

and as for Top Gear! yuk

Never understood the amount of cars I see in London, even in my street.

I think I'd have a problem looking at a lump of metal depreciate before my eyes. You might as well throw tenners out the window.

In all seriousness I understand that they are a requirement for people living outside major cities and I'd vote for a party that some how worked out making it cheaper for people in those circumstances.

However, I'm all for taxing Londoners off the road

The only thing then would be to deal with the bloody cyclists.

Had a lovely new experience today in Balham. Women got her bike in the middle of the road and literally ran it through a red light and got back on again.

I was obviously crossing at the time (on "my" green) and had never experienced this unique means of dealing with that common psychological that cyclists suffer; the inability to stop where er.. they are supposed to.

I did my usual ("that not apply to you then...") and got the unexpected reply that it is "perfectly legal to walk a bike through a red light as I become a pedestrian.."

So remember that motorists, if you want to jump a red simply get out of your car and push it. It's perfectly legal... apparently.
She's right of course

I didn't Pass my test until I was 25 and didn't own a car until I was 35 because I never saw the point and walked/cycled or used public transport. We bought one three years ago when the bairn was born and have to say that I love the freedom it offers and wouldn't be without one now
