Have to admit I've hardly slept and when I did I had some weird football related dream. Up earlier than I normally would be to walk the dog and I can still feel last night's adrenaline.

I haven't enjoyed a win so much since I can remember. Yes, it was nice to finally beat Palace but that was comparatively easy. To win with a last kick penalty against a team who'd beaten us on penalties and with a penalty taken after the final whistle in recent seasons was sweeeeet.

I'll probably just have calmed down by Monday.

I developed a pericardial infection late yesterday and spent the whole of today in A&E, where they gave me an armfull of morphine, and jabbed me repeatedly to rule out an MI.

Still buzzing, but cream crackered now as I did not get home until 12:30 then watch the whole game again. Weirdly still feeling nervous about the penalty second time even though I new we scored it.

when to to bed about 2am with a still over excited and active brain dozing off about 3ish then awake at 7am for work.

found the my smart watch has a noise warning and a heart rate warning around 10pm last night not sure what that is about.

Feeling much better this morning, thanks. They faffed about for hours before ruling out an MI. This morning all I can't do is bend too far forward without getting pain. This gives me a green light to drop things around the house and leave them for others to pick up.

Gawd Harry - hope you are Ok - that was a worry I imagine to say the least - yesterday I got results from an echocardiogram showing aneurysms in my Aortic root and descending Aorta too so now looking at possibly open heart surgery (on top of everything else) - cardiac issues are scary

Take it easy and get well soon mate.

Gawd Harry - hope you are Ok - that was a worry I imagine to say the least - yesterday I got results from an echocardiogram showing aneurysms in my Aortic root and descending Aorta too so now looking at possibly open heart surgery (on top of everything else) - cardiac issues are scary

Cheers! Miraculous recovery incoming. Pericarditis is a weird one - sometimes just a bit like a vague mild stitch then other times (so I learned yesterday) like you've been immolated by a lunatic with a razor sharp drainpipe. But it has almost now fully vanished. Weird indeed.

Rest assured, an aortic aneurism is not a heart disease. It is vascular (blood vessels). Any heart enlargement is secondary to the aneurism. Fix that and you're laughing. Not pretending the surgery won't be invasive, but the surgeons know how to cut, move things around, put them back in the right place, and stitch.

A pal of mine had the same deal 20 years ago. He had heart failure symptoms - shortness of breath, palpitations, weakness, the lot. After surgery and a delightful period of rest and recouperation, he became a new man.

You'll be fine.
