Images keep on disappearing on my digital camera, in batches of consecutive images.

Anybody had this happen to them?

I suspect:

1) faulty camera (processor does not store the images)
2) faulty batteries (batteries fail during the process than return to power later)
3) faulty memory card (if hard discs fail so can memory cards, but I have not heard it happen)

?

Camera is a Dimage Z3 which is not really recommended.

Try a different card. They can become corrupt.

its probably a duff sector of your memory card, you'll probably find pictures 8 9 10, for example will disapear, just take crap shots over the duff bit, but you have too remember that when using the camera

I've been using a Z1 for a few years now and never had a problem .... its actually a very good piece of kit for the price.

As others have suggested - suspect SD card - swap it out (treat yourself to a new big one as they're as cheap as chips now)

I expect I will get a new memory card. Where in Brighton or Worthing is the best place? My camera shop, Fotosound in Worthing has closed.
