It's viewers the TV companies want and Man Utd draw the most viewers. End of story.

Bit of an odd choice picking the winner of Plymouth Liverpool against Wolves. If Plymouth win, is Plymouth v Wolves really a big tv game?

Lots of abuse on the official BBC sport twitter account this morning about the decision to show Man Utd v Wigan cup tie live
And rightly so, the company that bangs on every year about the romance & glamour of the greatest cup competition in the world and then decide to show the least glamorous tie of the whole 4th round

Least attractive tie in the whole round ???

Hardly. United are arguably the biggest club in the world. It's a local derby against recent winners who have fallen from grace. Plus it gives Dave Whelan a platform to tell us all about how he broke his leg in the cup final.........again!

The local paper is saying there is a possibility of the BBC/BT Sport picking up the game for the Monday night slot.....

http://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/w...y-v-brighton/story-30067338-detail/story.html

Lincoln City's FA Cup earnings could be about to pass half-a-million pounds.

Prior to last night's epic FA Cup replay victory over Ipswich Town, the Imps had already made in excess of £300,000 from prize and TV money.

The dramatic 1-0 victory over the Tractor Boys saw the club pocket another £67,000 for reaching round four.

And if City's fourth round tie with Brighton is screened live, as is being rumoured, the club will receive another £144,000 in TV money.

Most of the televised ties in round four have been unveiled but a Monday night spot remains available.

Could that be filled by the Imps and Chris Hughton's Seagulls?

The BBC were certainly impressed by Danny Cowley's side, with Match of the Day pundits Trevor Sinclair and Terry Butcher highly complementary of the Imps.

If the Brighton tie is selected by the BBC or BT Sport, it would mean four Lincoln matches in a row would have been televised, as the club's next two National League games against Dover Athletic on Friday and Barrow next Tuesday will be screened live by BT.

If there is still a Monday night slot available then ours is the obvious choice. Logic would say that that would be unfair given we have a game on the Thursday, however we have already shown that we don't play the first team anyway so we have a weak case on this.

Did he. Do you know what, I'm not sure he's ever mentioned that. He really should.

CONFIRMED: Manchester United extend their run to 56... consecutive televised FA Cup games. [emoji342]

That's every game since 2005. [emoji15]

To be fair I always thought their game against Wigan would be on. Cup holders against recent previous winners, North West Derby, emotional return of Warren Joyce to Old Trafford.

I emailed Paul Barber about the possibility of a beamback IF the conditions were met, his response was thus;

Assuming we do sell our ticket allocation, it really depends on what cameras are at the game. Championship clubs always have broadcast quality cameras present but National League clubs may not have such facilities in place. We will look at the options and let fans know if our tickets do sell out.

Regards, Paul

I would absolutely LOVE it if Plymouth pulled off an upset tonight then whoever chose that match would have boiled, fried, poached and rather a lot of scrambled egg on their face. :)
