My foot came off second best to a bull ant in NSW outback. It left its reminder.

I sympathise with you.
I was walking around a lake here in a national park with my youngest daughter on my shoulders when one of these took exception to me and grabbed on to my big toe on my sandled foot.
I had to grit my teeth and carefully remove said daughter before I could get it off.
Seemed like an eternity and readily amused all that were with us.

Sorry but to quote that eminent scientist and philosopher Shania Twain, that don't impress me much.

Any creature up to about the size of a mouse can quite happily be chucked off Beachy Head and walk away. It's all about terminal velocity.

Is this a new venue for WHC 2020?

I'm on a voyage of discovery today. Whilst googling just what exactly terminal velocity is I've just found out that the air is a fluid. A fluid! The sands of knowledge are shifting beneath my feet...

I watched three ants ‘take down’ a bee on my back patio a few weeks back, fascinating to watch, one holding its leg down to stop it flying off, the other two attacking its head. I checked back an hour later and it was still going on, the bee losing the battle.

I guess the bee did get to take it to extra time.

the thing that lets down any sort of ant in WHC is that a single ant isn't that impressive- they utilise strength in numbers

yeh- like a thousand ants can probably kill one bee. But one bee would absolutely destroy one ant
