Got chatting to a fellow Albion fan in 'The Pub' before the game yesterday evening. He reckoned we are keeping tabs on Anton Ferdinand, he's having a tortuous time in Turkey at the moment at Antalyaspor and has issued a come and get me plea to English clubs. He is even willing to take a 50% pay-cut on his current 40k per week wages. Probably would be a long line of suitors for a player of his calibre but interesting all the same if true, and certainly a possibility if we go up through the play-offs.

He showed great potential when he was coming through as a young defender... but unfortunately he's never really lived up to that. Instead he's been distinctly average. If we're going to spend 20k a week on someone I'd rather it be someone else

Some people do make me laugh. He's 29. Has played, what, 9 seasons in the Premiership? I'd imagine a fair few of them where mid-table finishes too. Promoted form the Championship a couple of times? Just because he was part of QPR's terrible season in the Premiership doesn't mean he's past it.

Perhaps those above are also those that thought Upson was past it...
