Anti-Tory Majority in Parliament now GUARANTEED

The Lib Dems will come to several arrangements not to oppose or to support certain Conservative policies to get us through the initial period.

There will then be another election, probably next March, which will result in a Conservative majority. Look at the history of elections following a hung parliament - the minority government nearly always wins.
The next one will be different. Earlier "second" elections always followed a pathetic performance by the third party.

This one saw a huge third party vote.

Well, it looks to me like you're a sore 'loser'. "Oh, my 'team' didn't win, so I'm going to sulk".

Whichever way you interpret this, the country have rejected all parties. However, they've rejected Labour more than they've rejected the Tories.

And as for the Lib Dems not supporting the Tories on Tax cuts, I wouldn't be so sure. With all the shit going around about soveriegn debt crisis, they'll be a lot of presssure to address the deficit sooner rather than later.

Nobody won...

I'd do anything to make sure the tory's don't get in if i were the other partys - look after the rich toffs etc and legalise fox hunting - idiots :US:

Because they will not be able to govern with the number of seats they have. It seems to be you that is deluded not anyone else.

Stop ,think and read the post properly before plunging in with both feet, i'm asking why he thinks this policy would lose cameron votes, not if he hopes there would be an election.

As I predicted before the election, we'll have a minority Tory government that will achieve nothing very dramatic.

not necessarily a bad thing and if the others road block any sensible (subject to debate) financial reforms, they wont look too clever in the next election. other than that, do we *need* much legislation?

"Even if the government does not command a majority in the HoC the formal and infomal culture at Westminster gives priority to govenment business. through Standing order No. 14 which provides that government busines shall "have prededence at every sitting". Minority governments might have to concede more time to the opposition for issues which concern them but the government remains the pime mover and the culture at Westminster is that the government's business must progress." Just in case you might think I didn't give an answer ... see post 22.

I'm thinking that a Cameron government's failure to implement electoral reform would be a major issue at any early election called by Cameron. And he'd lose votes. We'd get another hung parliament.

On the other hand ... a deal with Brown to deliver electoral reform would be popular.

We'd still get a hung parliament from the next election, of course.

The logic of this is that we might already have seen the end of majority government.
