If this one comes off, I'd be very excited.

He appears to have all the ingredients to be a great winger; skillful, great left foot, set piece specialist, vision, can finish. What's not to like?

Post on the championship forum made good reading.

'Knockaert! Now there's a cult hero if there ever was one.

Remember when we signed him and he was a completely different kind of player from what I'd seen at Leicester before. Used to do things with a football which made your jaw drop, he can be a bit frustrating at times, but he'd be playing football at a far higher level if he didn't have that frustrating side, when he's at his game he just runs games at this level and is completely unplayable. No exaggeration to say if I was making a list of my top 10 favourite Leicester goals, 4 of them would be Knockaet goals.

His biggest problem was we signed Mahrez, who was even better, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better flair player at Championship level than him, superb signing for Brighton if they get him.

Still a big fan's favourite here and would get a great reception if he ever came back to the KP as an opposing player.'
This is worth repeating..!! Signing one of the best/favourite players from a strong promotion winning team seems like quite a good thing.

Leicester finished last season in title winning form. No chance of relegation when you finish like that.

He wasn't playing so would have been part of the reason.

Anyway we need to at least match his Leicester salary from a year ago.
The reason he left Leicester is because he fell out with Pearson (who wasn't playing him) ..... Quite simple really

Its odd though, maybe.something lost in translation. Yesterday the club accepted our.second offer as the player was keen yet the players dad says hes not excited
Is his dad his agent? Either way, he wouldn't want to appear too keen to be able to negotiate the best deal possible.

He doesn't sound enthusiastic from that article. I hope we can agree personal terms.
It would be disappointing if this fell by the wayside now.

Maybe an honest reply partly lost by the guys use of English ...and one never knows the tone of a guy's voice ....of course he could have trotted out the usual stuff full of cliches etc ....just my observation

A challenge for Solly perhaps? He'll get his starting place straight back if we sign VLP but Knockaert is a different prospect. As has been mentioned, with LuaLua & Knockers on the flanks, we are a completely different proposition to the team we've been since March got injured. Very exciting indeed.

I hope so. I'll wait until his photo with the shirt before I get 'excited'.

I see French press reporting the fee as €3.5m, which comes to £2.6m. Will this break our previous record fee paid for CMS?

Solly won't be back this season so no challenge there. If we get to the promised land with Knockaert's help that would be great but there would be no guarantees for him playing next year if we manage it.

If we made it to the Premiership, there would be no guarantees for any of them I don't think, with the exceptions of maybe Kayal and Stephens.
