Heavyweights like Ray Mercer, Razor Ruddock, David Tua & Tommy Morrison may well have been too much for Joshua. Hard to compare era’s but take out Fury & Joshua there isn’t a huge amount of depth in the heavyweight scene.

Yeah, heavyweight is not as competitive as it used to be in the times of Lewis and Tyson. I guess that at the moment Fury is #1 in the division. It would be really interesting to watch his fight against Joshua and Usyk.

You have to admire AJ's bravery and tenacity, looks like the Usyk fight is delayed and he wants a bout in the interim but he has insisted on a strong contender instead of fighting a bum for a payday. This is why he's the peoples champion, will be intriguing to see who he faces.

I suspect (and hope) he will fight a has-been like Ortiz. He really has only ever fought a handful of genuine top level opponents. White was a green novice when they fought, Klitchsko was a two year out of action old man. Even Ruiz showed in the second fight he is way off top level. In fact I'd say Usyk is maybe his only real genuine in-prime top level test across his whole career.

I just pray he doesn't fight Wilder. He'll get ktfu and the Fury fight will then be over for ever.

AJ agrees 2nd fight for Usyk

Looks like AJ v Usyk is ON for their much anticipated rematch and Saudi is the venue. Can't wait for this personally, lets hope he can do to Usyk in Saudi what he did to Ruiz Jnr.

Certainly hope so. Then we will see if Fury still fancies fighting him since he announced that the fight was on knowing that it wasn't because he had to fight Wilder again.

Fury has to beat The Bodysnatcher first and that's no gimme.

Usyk will put him to bed for once and for all, Joshua is a spent force.

We wont see the Fury fight with him, simply because Joshua is not good enough.

Sorry Crodo got to disagree, he’s not the peoples champion, as much as I admired him early on in his career it’s become apparent he was manufactured by The Hearns in the same was Bruno was by Lawless and Duff.

When it came to the crunch he had no intention of fighting not one, but three legitimate opponents in Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte.

Joshua is decent enough with an ok CV and plenty of fights still to be made but he isnt in Usyks class.

Usyk will stop him this time

That last Round at White Hart Lane would have had an effect on AJ both mentally and physically.

Usyk for the first two minutes effectively said “This is what I’ve done to you for the previous 11 rounds and expect more in the rematch”, then for that last 60 secs “And I can stop you in your own City when I want to, but I wont tonight, I’ll save it for the next time “

Is that the same Dillian White he fought in 2015? However, I agree that Joshua has managed to avoid the most dangerous fighters in the World at their peaks. He hasn't ever really proved himself at the absolute top level.

Something tells me Usyk will be up for it.

I actually think Usyk would give most heavyweights a bit to think about, even Fury. But AJ isn't the spent force he is being made out to be.

A 50/50 call in my mind

A considered reply to a Crodo post? Let me stop you there.....

They were different fighters back in 2015

And was that the fight that should have seen both boxers disqualified after the first round? Referee Howard Foster was allegedly told by Robert Smith of the BBB of C at ringside to ignore the incident to stop a potential riot at 02

He had the opportunity to fight Whyte again at Wembley in April 2019 but AJ/Hearn allegedly offered a 90/10 split, funny how Hearn is making so much of the 80/20 Fury/Whyte split now.

Yes, agree. I don’t remember that incident. Was it punches thrown after the bell?
I do remember Whyte caught Joshua at one point and Joshua looked unsteady for a minute or so before Joshua took control.

AJ mega-bout set for August in Saudi

Looks like it's all systems go for August and AJ wants to take the fight to Saudi Arabia again. Can't wait for this, with some tweaks to his tactics and his coaching team I know the peoples champion is going to be absolutely pumped for this and reclaim his belts.

And you might have added how great it is to see top level sport being spread around different parts of the world :)

Will be a huge British contingent going over to support him, but blimey it will be hot in there in August although imagine AJ will insist it is very late at night to suit his fans watching back home.
