A fall guy?

You think that Tossard dicking about in training was by RDZ's design?
You think that Sanchez sulking in Pizzaland was by RDZ's design?

You appear to have invested in him super-powers beyond imagining
I have felt similar. As much as I love RDZ there is a pattern of players falling out with him. Agreed Trossard And Sanchez’s behaviour didn’t help matters but different people respond in different ways e.g. Dahoud. Remains to be seen what will come of the alleged Barco and Fati ding-dongs.

It may all. Just be a cunning plan

play crap until the end of the season, but all the while he's great in training . . . Buy him cheap.

He clearly loves Lancing, has a bulging loyalty card at Budgens and wants to stay.

I'm not sure that this has 'worked out well for Barcelona' at all. Yes they got a % of his wages off their books but I'd imagine that they were hoping that he would get back to full fitness/ form, with another club having done the work, and:
1) They would get a ~$100m elite player back into their squad
2) They would get a mega transfer fee from a 'big' EPL club
3) Worst case if he only did 'OK' then Brighton might offer ~$40m for him

However I now think the absolute best they can hope for is another club taking a loan punt on him
Barca must be embarrassed having bigged him up ! Still, they'll take the money ££££££

Is this actually true, or did he just happen to have a couple of decent games against a crap Ajax team just before he got injured?

That's a genuine question by the way, my memory for these things is shocking.
starting to look good = decent games in the Europa League - yes.

Wouldn't assume he's fallen out with him, don't forget RDZ had him round for pasta at his gaffe not that long ago

Observation, not criticism. Interesting this striker confidence thing. Managers have their own tolerance of how long will I give. Think RDZ is very short ie. 2 starts, nothing, dropped. 6 or more of the bench, little result, bench again. Ever decreasing circle ? Fati ? Evan ? Undav ? Further back Gyokeres ? Dare I say Andone. Works the other way though. J Pedro, and Danny W.
Still confident with 8 to go. Tbh, always feel more confident against the top 6. (And Chelsea) ha ha. UTA

Having looked it up, he did score a goal against Man City around the same time to be fair.
That said, I do think those two games against Ajax are doing a lot of heavy lifting considering how often the "starting to look good before he got injured again" line gets brought out.

Trossard and Sanchez behaviour needed stamping on as undermines the manager so can see why RDZ came down on both of them. Dahoud has recently fallen out with the Syrian FA over his agents demands when he attended the national team camp so not just here he has had issues.

Don’t know anything about the Fati and Barco situation but we do know RDZ has very intense training methods and high expectations about application in training so maybe they have not been applying themselves to his standards

Yep, my eldest got one straight away. Normally I'd never let them get a loanee but this was a bit of a one off. I'm gutted it's not worked out so far.
If you're going to buy a shirt with a name on the back for your son, you jump in quick when it's Fati!

If I remember it correctly, Fati was the only one without a pair of slippers in that picture. Maybe he’s still pissed of because RDZ didn’t give him a pair?
Well there you go, as the saying goes: beware greeks bearing gifts and Italians not giving you slippers.

Pedro has a 5 year contract which we amortise- so he's effectively 6-7m a year for his fee and then we pay his wages above that. (probably 3-4m a year) . So he's - i guess - about 10m a year in total. And of course he's our asset so we could sell him on...
Baleba was 25m - so he's cost about 7 or 8m this year too.
Likewise for Igor, Estupinan and so on but slightly lower.
In hindsight its not worked out - i think thats the consensus , and tbf - he had started to look good when he was injured and then out for months - and 7m is still a lot of money but the £7m cost - compared to other recent purchases - is not as eye watering as it seems.
It's still £7M pretty much wasted as it stands - not eye-watering? Maybe not in PL La-la-land economics - but he'll have to go like a f***ing rocket in the next eight matches to have any chance of making the loan a worthwhile investment!

........................... and if RDZ decides he's not fit enough to play, the loan will go down as a major flop.
