This article, just released, paints a bit more of a complicated picture. Fati was at Seville until 12 years old apparently which doesn't bode well for us. Plus he gets champions league with Seville.

Ansu Fati (20 years old) is close to deciding his future definitively. The FC Barcelona forward will go out on loan and, after receiving numerous proposals, he is debating between two teams: the English Brighton & Hove Albion FC or Sevilla . The culé youth player met with his family until after three in the morning to try to evaluate the pros and cons of both options and plans to finish making the final decision today.

The Premier League team was the first to offer. A powerful proposal that also came accompanied by up to five calls from coach Roberto de Zerbi, who spoke personally with Ansu Fati to seduce him. The Italian coach explained the project to him, assured him that he would be the franchise player for the team in the south of England and reminded him of the potential that Brighton has when it comes to betting on young talent.

Sevilla , for its part, seeing that Ansu Fati had not yet decided, came in late yesterday to try to convince the player . A proposal that the Fati family also like and that made the international attacker hesitate.

The English team has much more financial capacity, a handicap for the Seville team, but in the Andalusian capital they believe that returning to the club where he was until he was 12 would be the best formula for Ansu to recover his best feelings . Furthermore, he would play in the Champions League at Sevilla , while at Brighton he would play in the Europa League.

You would have thought a local BHA journo who is always hinting he has club sources would have been all over this last night.
I find it baffling that after so long, some people don't understand how Andy Naylor operates. Rumours and constant updates are not his thing. He predominantly deals in facts and reporting on signings when they've happened.

He's old school - and I like it.

I'd imagine 80-90% had heard of him and 60- 75% had seen him play. That's being conservative.

He plays for Barcelona and was the next big thing before the injuries. Not exactly under the radar for anyone with a passing interest in football.
Think it depends on how much champions league you watch. I don't turn it on often and although i have heard the name before I've needed some reminding, I didn't expect this to be a thread about a Barcelona player when I opened it. My excitement about him is purely based on everyone else's excitement!

'The next big thing before the injuries' - everyone is glossing over this. I'm thinking Tariq Lamptey before and after his injury, feels like everyone is dreaming for the former but we're going to get the latter.

That's 11pm yesterday. The other article suggests he was still mulling this over with family at 3am.....

Should become clear very soon
You have to remember that La Marca are a Real Madrid paper. (I think?)

Who's that man from Barcelona?
Who's that man we all adore (for one season)?
Ansu Fati is his name
And he scores a goal a game
Now we won't mention Chelsea anymore (YEAH RIGHT!)
