It's a lot easier to clear snow off the pitch than frost and ice. The pitch isn't a problem it's the stands and track. But the forecasts look positive enough at the moment for that not to be an issue.

Wasn't there a thread last year where someone got SLATED for suggesting a match might be called off, which did actually then happen?

Someone got slated on NSC? Never! :p

As i wrote in another thread the surrounding area i.e. Stands, Track, Car park e.t.c. are in a poor state and we couldn't get the car in and out the car park with any kind of ease as it is just completely frozen and slushy.

Ever thaught that the FROST COVERS could be on the pitch under the snow? Taking them off now could do more damage if its going to Freeze tonight!

I think you'll find MurryMints that it is in fact YOU that is looking for an arguement because someone DARED to disagree with you!

It'll be fine. Stop fretting.

Anyone been past the ground today?

I went into the ground and got as close to the pitch as possible. The track in front of the south stand is still frozen including whilst the car park and areas leading up to the ground are frozen and slushy in places.

They had a tractor in clearing the snow and have removed the snow that was on the pitch. Not surprisingly the pitch is now heavily water logged with small pools of water dotted about the pitch.

The ice will clear it is just getting the standing water off the pitch.

Are you seriously suggesting the club are just ignoring the situation?

Are you seriously suggesting the ground staff don't know what they are doing?

Are you seriously suggesting that the club won't do everything possible to make sure it goes ahead - they will lose money if it doesn't, it is totally in the clubs interest to play the match if at all possible.

Some people are only happy when they're unhappy.

Why? Surely if they're about to bring in several new players hand-picked by Gus it would be in our best interests to play the game when they were on board? If we can postpone this until the end of Jan it would give us a better chance of winning - wouldn't it?

Oh dear Christie. Not a good performance on this thread, suggesting fully FOUR days before the match that it would be cancelled is not a smart thing to do. Now, learn from your mistakes and get your chin (and the other strap) up and support the lads to a crushing 4-0 win on saturday.

We should get a better crowd on Boxing Day than a potentially wet evening in January and February which might interfere with our upcoming cup run towards Wembley.

A little bird told me it's been a tad parky there for a few days, people haven't been able to get out and about, Christmas is coming with all it's stresses and families and evidently the weather is set to improve - sounds like a good recipe for a trip to Withdean to me.
