You really can not accept at all anyone elses view. I am a Tory which you know from previous threads but why do you insist that only left-wing views are acceptable when decussing politics and religous issues.

Tonight I have spent the evening with my friends who are from Blangledesh, who run the Ganges Restaurant in Nutley. During the evening we spent many a hour talking about the current conflicts/cartoons/wars involving the "west" and the Muslim Countries. We had differences of opinion and a lot of agreement but fundamentally we did not belittle, slate, undermine, insult or isolate anyone in the decussion. You however appear not to hold any of these values and can only retort in a vile manner to those that hold a differing view to you. You are becomming all to predictable.

I give you a little story about my idea of the typical "comfortable labourite". My first wife's father was a staunch labour supporter, I asked him one day, Why? His answer was that his father was and his father was before him. Why I asked? He answered that Labour always looked after the "working man". Hows that, I asked? Because eh....eh. they eh...... do. He replied. But how?, I asked. "just because they do" he replied. And that was it he could not answer. Basically thats how I look at the majority of your type of people. You are staunch supporters of some thing but you never really know why!! You are unable to form real views of your own and when questioned resort to insults instead of actually being realistic and accepting other people do have differing views. When you grow up one day you might be able to have a adult conversation about politics and perhaps even football.

But let's be more positive in our debate, I am willing if you are. Now my challenge to you is the same I made to Chicken Run, when I discussed the issue of how both Labour and Tory supporters on here have a responsibility to condemn racism when it rears its ugly head.

Mr Burns has repeatedly used this website to make racist comments, both actual, eg. "Asians are a plague", and theoretical, that he believes different races can't mix or live together, and he used that appalling example of Hitler's Germany and the Jews, appalling because so many people bravely gave their lives in the second world war to oppose the victory of racist ideas like that.

Now Piltdown Man, you have not said a peep about any of that propaganda, have you? Yet you will attack me in personal terms for trying to tell this racist that his ideas are unacceptable in a civilied society.

Now Tories like you have to do better than that. You can't leave the fight against racist ideas to Labour supporters like me.

If you do, then you run the risk of being seen as soft on racist ideas, and given the patchy record historically of the Tory party on race issues (who can forget the Tory candidate who fought a by-election in the sixties under the slogan "if you want a ****** neighbour, vote Labour"), well, I just don't think that's too clever of you.

The fact is, the Tory party is trying to modernise its approach to British politics under David Cameron and is trying to dispel its image as a white-dominated party who only speak to whites. I applaud that. I applaud the fact that in the recent anti-Muslim cartoon controversy, he put out its most senior Asian official, the Tory party vice-chairman Sayeeda Warsi, to speak for the entire party. I thought it was gratifying that she said she understood and sympathised with the hurt felt by British Muslims over the extreme cartoons. Don't you think it's a good thing that she said that, for both the nation and the Tory party?

British politics has moved on a long way from a few years ago. There is now a real consensus among all the major parties, Labour and Tory, that racist ideas and attacks on minority communities have to be condemned and their perpetrators maginalised and exposed for what they are.

Piltdown man, I hope as a Tory you take up that challenge being put down by both your leaders David Cameron and Sayeeda Warsi to do just that on this forum. Don't leave it all to me, yeah?

I believe that in its self shows tollerance, understanding and above all else no racism. I agree with you that the Tories views on racism are changing and for the better, lets hope that now they are again an electable party and can defeat this controlling government.
