Four people were arrested after a 20-year-old man was fatally stabbed in east
London, Scotland Yard said tonight.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We were called by the London Ambulance
Service at 5.25pm this evening to Downsell Road E15 following reports of a man
suffering a stab wound.
"The 20-year-old man was treated by paramedics, however, he was later
pronounced dead at the scene.
"Next of kin are not aware as yet. A post-mortem and formal identification
have not taken place.
"Four people have been arrested and taken to east London police stations.
"We are keeping an open mind as to motive at this stage."

Knife crime is not a problem according to Labour

Indeed. There are all sorts of apologists that say... "It is in line with figures last year. We are expecting the same amount of deaths. Nothing to panic about." Obviously ignoring the promises from Bliar talking about how they were going to be tough on crime (did he repeat it three times?) and sorting out the problem. 20 deaths from knifing is 20 too many.

Unfortunately we have a nation of hand wringers that are perfectly happy to condemn it, but take very little responsibility themselves. If I had a 14/15/16 year old kid, I would not let them out at all hours and I would want to know what they are up to. Sadly, we seem to have a nation of people that are quite happy to have children and more than happy to let them do their own thing.

It is all very well coming down hard on these kids/people that commit the crime, but I daresay they are not thinking about the consequences of their actions if thery are able to plunge a knife in another human being.

We need to address the root causes. Sadly, the wealth gap is something of a Labour legacy and I can only see this sort of thing escalating. I assume we are now ahead of the annual average, so perhaps the govt. will act. Either that or they will change the classification of knife crime, so the figures align or drop.

You get caught a carrying knife and there's a chance you will be let off or stung with a caution. This is where the problem lies.

Anyone giving odds on whether its a white/black man? :jester:

No, but I'll give odds on you slipping race into as many threads as you can if you like.

Any guesses as to what those odds might be anyone ?

As I parent with a son who is 16 next month and already been the subject of an unprovoked attack in Preston Park I fear whenever he goes out now as does Mrs Hut.

Trouble is I cannot see how this issue can be resolved without a stiff sentance for carrying the knife in the first place.

Police cordoned off the end of Downsell Road, a residential street lined with
two-storey terraced houses.
Residents returning home from work were surprised to find their street had
become a crime scene.
They said the area was usually quite safe and nothing like this had happened in
the recent past.
One young man, who did not want to be named, said there were no problems with
gangs in the area as far as he was aware.
Surrounding roads were also closed off, with police manning the cordons.
A force spokesman said the victim was found in a car.
"Whether he was stabbed in the car or got in the car after he was stabbed we
do not know," he said.

He also said it was not known at this stage whether the incident was gang
related.

Sounds like a revenge attack by one of those nasty cyclists when the nice man told him to get off the pavement.

What are the odds on it being a drug deal gone wrong, or him having mugged someone off. Lets look at Shakilus Townsend-stabbed and then 2 days later pics surface of him posing with a knife.

Then there was Alex Kamondo Boy, 15, stabbed to death after exam celebrations - Times Online

A few days later he was found posing with a shotgun.

The victims of these crimes are usually involved or related to gangs ergo put themselves in the firing line.

Even Ben Kinsella who appears to have been not involved in anything like that was in a bar at 2AM on a Sunday night. He was 16-now i know that doesnt mean he deserved to be stabbed however if he wasnt in a place he shouldnt have been, he wouldnt have died.
