Sammy Lee was a shit appointment in the first place.

The problem for Bolton now is that they look like a team destined to be fighting relegation, as opposed to a team competing for a European place when Allardyce left. Therefore, their ability to attract a decent manager has waned significantly.

Instead of being able to continue in the top half of the table with, say, a Paul Jewell, a Billy Davies or a Steve Bruce they're probably looking at the likes of Peter Reid or George Burley.

Bryan Robson should be available in a couple of weeks.

I'm very pleased with my 'manager under most pressure' thread from a fortnight ago. I listed eight off the top of my head, and immediately acknowledged that Gregory and Donachie should have been on there. So that was 10. Five have gone already.

Davies and Bruce are currently struggling at their own clubs, so wouldn't be considered agreat catch anyway. Burley ALLEDGEDLY likes a drink or three. If you'd like to join him for a glass of whisky, apparently 3am at the Novotel hotel bar in Southampton is the place to be.

When the manager leaves, when does appointing his number 2 ever, EVER work ?
Go on. Give me ONE example.

The guy at Scunthorpe, Nigel somebody or other.

I think Davies and Bruce are both very good managers, certainly a decent catch for the likes of Bolton. I expect that both would consider an approach from Bolton very seriously, and had that come over the summer both might have fancied it.

no surprise but a real shame - another "talented English coach" bites the dust to be replaced no doubt by a foreign import:glare:

Billy Davies would be good for them. His style of play is similar to Big Sams. Won't be as successful but mid table I reckon.
