And is it me, or does Sheik Jassim look like Paul Merson?

Man United invented the whole shit show that is the greedy game, 30 odd years ago. A case of careful what you wish for if anyone at OT is left with a social conscience and morals. I say this because I thought most of those left and started a new club in the noughties?

Once 51% of PL clubs owned by Arabs and Yanks........then it's all over....games in UAE, Sydney etc......
I don't know why they don't just do this. Instead of buying up our league they can set one up across the middle east, USA and rest of the world. Pump their billions into it and make sure only 3 clubs can ever win it. They can have TV deals coming out of their arses and all the mercenary players they can throw brown envelopes at.

They can cater for the worldwide armchair twitter fan and their adopted clubs and we can reorganise ourselves to push competitiveness and sporting enjoyment to the top of our priorities list.

In short, take your money and f*** off.

Yeah yeah, I know it's pie in the sky and completely unworkable in the current climate and will never happen. But as you say once they get over 51% of it they are going to ruin it anyway.

What most don't know is the Premier League IS the 20 clubs......there is no overriding body or company.....the PL IS the clubs....and they employ a chief exec, offices, refs etc.

Other than the sports washing angle what major difference will it make? They're already one of the richest clubs in the world so how much extra money will be piled into them?

In a footballing sense it's not like Newcastle or chelsea/man city before them where a middling team became a major power. It's just the replacing of one set of money driven owners with some morally dubious ones. I also don't think having a middle eastern state rather than American billionaire business men in charge makes the ESL any more likely than it already is. They'll both jump at the opportunity.

Also, how good a job have Qatar actually done at PSG?

Also, how good a job have Qatar actually done at PSG?
“It is easy to lose track of the sheer level of inanity and dysfunction at PSG. But it was there in its many shades before, during and after the 1-0 defeat by Bayern Munich in Paris on Tuesday, an occasion when the team looked more than ever like a version of football as reimagined by an uncompromising nine-year-old video game enthusiast.”
