if he is moving to the US surely that is good new as it will relieve the pressure on services that you are constant whining about.
the guy has a job and is paying tax........should he move to the u.s his army pension will no doubt continue.....
Its a shitty situation for the bloke and maybe their should be exemptions made for ex service men but this is hardly newsworthy is it?

Visas get turned down all the time I am sure the fella knew the likely outcome when he started the process. I feel for him i really do but i don't think this decision should be upheld as any damning inditement of the immigration process. It is a decision made on (from what i can see) a fair and consistent ruling that his situation adhere to.
A hero soldier who fought in Afghanistan said he was being forced out of Britain by David Cameron.
Andrew McLaughlin’s American wife and daughter have been denied entry to the UK because of the government’s strict immigration rules on non-EU spouses.”
and i don't see why there shouldn't be exemptions for ex-military servants......these guys have put their lived on the line...!!

Then he should get some fvcking state support , the key here is that he has CONTRIBUTED , or id certainly class fighting for vyour country as doing so.No problem with that. 18k is not enough to support a family without state support.
No, he only did 4 years.Does he not have a military pension to top up the 18k?
