Which events are the Europeans world leader in.

Or to put it another way, is it worth getting excited (I see NSC hasn't been), about this event.
Or will our medalists get there asses kicked when playing with the big boys.

What? European leader just means the best in Europe this year on times?

Depends from event to event as to whether we'll get destroyed in the worlds..

For a lot of our athletes, let's enjoy their success and look at it as a confidence boost and a spring board to really push on and compete against the worlds best. Perri Shakes-Drayton will definitely be one to watch.

Mo Farah's achievement just now is fantastic and I can see him pushing on from here.

Can I just add that having so many medalists, even if it is only the European Championships, can really inspire the next generation. My eldest two, both keen on athletics and always representing their school at town sports, have been asking all evening if we can go to Crystal Palace for the Grand Prix in August. I booked tickets earlier in the family block for Friday night at £15 for adults, £5 for kids, which is pretty good value I reckon. They're really excited about it !

The way they were talking about Mo's preparation was very encouraging.

But my reason for asking stems from a comment made in the studio, to Denise Lewis.
Along the line of 'we are so used just 1 or 2 performers, now we have 16 medals'.

Now I've not really paid much attention to this event, for lots of reasons, but that being one, hence the genuine question.
