Advice please.

In a rush whilst browsing using Google Chrome I clicked on something which means my Google browsing goes straight to B****y Ask. A useless site.

Am using Windows 10.

Everything I do to remove Ask is failing.

Suggestions.

Top right - Settings - Search Engines - Change back to Google You're welcome

Problem is Google is still my browsing setting and have changed it back to that but Ask is still kicking around and diverts to same.

Have you changed both search bar and search engine within those settings?

You can also remove Ask from those settings.

Sorry dealing with a thick one here.

Have deleted and reinstalled Google Chrome as my browser.
Have searched settings everywhere for Ask. Cannot find.
Tried searching with Google Chrome again and diverted to ASK!!!

If you have CCleaner, check your installed progs. May have an Ask toolbar or alike?

I wonder if it maybe added an extension to Chrome. Could be worth having a look in Settings > Extensions.

Have you tried asking Ask how to change your search engine to Google?

Or alternatively go here:

chrome://settings/searchEngines

and remove Ask if it appears.

iOS runs on iPhones and iPads so probably would mess up performance on an iMac.

I have Malwarebytes and ran that. Bingo, Ask has disappeared.

Ask? It serves you right for browsing the internet in 2004 mode.
